SIGNIFICANT ENHANCEMENTS

Work Performed
Over a period of seven months, the hull was stripped and ground to expose and dry all evidence of osmosis. Grindings were filled with chopped glass and epoxy resin and the hull was faired before being covered with two layers of 600 g woven glass roving and epoxy resin. It was then faired again and another coat of epoxy applied before application of a binding coat, primer and antifoul.
2008
A new Perkins M135 Sabre engine, Twin Disc TM 93/A transmission and new S/S propeller shaft were installed. Steering was converted from mechanical to Hy Drive hydraulic and a new TMQ AP4 Auto Pilot and TMQ Rudder Angle Indicator were installed.
The rudder post sleeve was removed and renewed.
2014
Replaced old solar panels on pilot house roof rack with three new 60 W panels and installed three new 120 W solar panels, with new MPPT Controller, on a tilting frame on the davits.
2015
Installed new Maxwell RC 10 Anchor Winch with capstan and 70 m of Canadian "Titan" 28 x 8 galvanised chain matched to winch gypsy.
Replaced pilot house windows with slider inserts and teak surrounds. Replaced original plywood floors in main cabin and head with new polished solid teak and had remaining floors professionally sanded and polished.
Replaced all batteries, purchased new 15 Hp Tohatsu outboard and replaced the failed Navman wind instrument with a new NASA Wireless Wind. Had the helm seat re-upholstered.
2009
Installed a new gimballed Force 10, 3 burner propane stove with oven and griller
Installed a new Exalto pantograph self-parking windscreen wiper.
Had designed, fabricated and fitted, a 'roof rack' for solar panels to get them off the sun roof and davits to carry the tender and provide a hoist to lift the 15 Hp outboard onto its rack.
Professional re-plumbing of the VacuFlush toilet system including new seals, odour-free hoses, a new vacuum pump, new 130 L GRP holding tank and new Macerator pump.
Professional overhaul of both DC and AC circuits and wiring, including replacement of old 110 V - 220V transformer, inverter and battery charger, with new Victron Multiplus Inverter/Charger 12 V 3000W 120A with external control panel. Removal of as much as possible of old 110V circuitry and other obsolete cabling and wiring of a new separate AC panel with safety switches on all circuits.
New upholstery and cushions installed on pilot house seating and walls.
Installed new ICOM IC-M710 HF radio and had software modified to send/receive all HAM channels.
2010
Installed USEC Duo Ultrasonic antifouling unit.
Fitted new mainsail furler wire and new Reefurl furler.
Purchased and had professionally installed, a suite of Furuno VX2 series electronics - Radar, GPS, Plotter, Sounder and AIS Receiver with 10" Multifunction Display.
2011
Had designed and fabricated, a 2.5 cft fibreglass insulated chest with reinforcing to accommodate the helm seat and installed this with an Ozefridge Eutectic refrigeration unit. The eutectic plate is charged with the appropriate glycol mix to enable operation as either fridge or freezer. It is very effective in either mode.
Installed new filter element in Little Wonder Watermaker. Purchased new Polycraft Tuff Tender. Installed new Ritchie binnacle style compass. Installed 200 L Flexitank and deck pump in aft lazarette.
2012
Purchased new 12 oz Dacron jib and mainsail and new spinnaker sock. Installed six new Lewmar rope clutches to replace old jam cleats, greatly simplifying handling of halyards, sheets and furling lines at the helm.
Purchased and had professionally installed a D400 Wind Generator with diversionary load.
The Northern Lights genset was removed from the boat, stripped and rebuilt by Supreme Power Engineering, Kuala Lumpur. we purchased and supplied the parts to SPE so we could be certain that only new, genuine Northern Lights parts would be used in the rebuild.
2013
Installed new forestay and Reefurl furler.
